My Evening Candle Ritual

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Burning candles, whatever the season, is one of my favourite evening rituals. For me, their calming honey scent creates the most tranquilizing mood in our flat. Years ago I used to buy all types of candles but ever since I read Jodi's advice, I only use pure beeswax.

Why, you ask? Well, they are a natural air purifier and help eliminate odour, dust, pollen, mildew and mould from your home. Basically they are healthy for you and your environment, while other candles are not.

Lately, I just buy a bunch of 100% beeswax sheets and a hemp wick to roll them myself, but if you'd rather just get them ready-made, here are a few types that I love: from Shop TerrainOVOThe Future KeptFarmer's Daughter GiftsY For You and Kaufmann Mercantile.

P.S: How to make them two ways yourself.
P.P.S: Did you know you can also make beeswax birthday candles?

Summer Trend: Rainbow Manicure

This summer will be all about cheery nails in every colour of the rainbow. Yup, it's time to get creative and let your inner-personality shine:)

It’s totally up to you to choose your unique palette, just as long as you have fun with it. As much as I love my one-colour go-to manicure, I’m temped to try this look with a few of my favourite pastel hues.

What do you think: thumbs up or down?

P.S: Remember this look?
P.P.S: Plus, tons more goodness this way...

Girl Power

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

This 3-year-old cutie just melted my heart and here is why…

When in April 2016 Scout's grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer, the family wanted to find a distraction and a way to deal with the sickness and the treatment. So Scout’s mom, Ashley came up with a great idea. Instead of loosing herself in worry, she decided to put a positive spin, and teach her little girl a few truths about women - like that they are fighters who don’t give up. Together, they found a bunch of inspiring examples and decided to embody them in a sweet little photo-shoot in honor of Scout’s beloved and strong grandma - who by today is cancer free and better than ever!

Oh boy, stories like that make me feel hopeful...Isn't she awesome?

P.S: One day, and this.
P.P.S: Plus, a brilliant way Lyndsay dealt with her cancer diagnosis.

The 'It' Summer Uniform

Do you often dream about wearing a breezy white summer dress on a random Tuesday, but when you put it on, it feels a bit too 'dressy' or uncomfortable? Well, here is a great tip to make even the most elegant white dress look super casual: wear it with a jean jacket and a pair of sneakers or summer sandals.

It's the perfect trio for a weekday summer work uniform that will make you feel amazing. I promise! Will you try it?

P.S: And don't forget this tweak, while you're at it:)

Summer Style Tweak: Cross Back

Thursday, May 25, 2017

Before our trip to Spain I packed this cross back dress thinking that maybe I will wear it once, but I ended up wanting to wear it all the time. The summery back detail makes it the perfect day-to-night piece that is comfortable, wearable and pretty sassy too - without really trying too hard.

So if you fancy wearing something feminine, yet totally understated this summer, try cross back on dresses, jumpsuits or tops. and you wont be sorry. Thoughts?

P.S: Peek-a-boo bra straps.

Breakfast Tweak: Cloud Eggs

Wow, have you heard of cloud eggs? Supposedly, they are the new ‘it’ breakfast and being a person who loves breakfast eggs dinner-style, I am intrigued! The special thing about them is that they are made by separating egg whites from the yolk and whipping them until they're a fluffy. After which the yolk is put on top of each 'cloud' and the whole thing is shoved into an oven for about 10 minutes. Sounds delicious, doesn't it?

Here is a great how-to, plus a curry-bread twist on it. Yum!

P.S: Fancy more...?
P.P.S: Plus, this egg-cellent fix.
